The Great Sword is a huge blade built around charged attacks. You hold the button to charge, and release at the right moment for one massive hit. Combos are slow, but each swing hits harder than almost anything else in the game.

How it plays

Most of your damage comes from charged slashes that build into a powerful finisher. Between big hits you reposition, and you can block with the flat of the blade in a pinch.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, every weapon can also use Focus Mode to aim attacks at wounds, and Focus Strikes to hit those wounds hard. You can carry a second weapon on your Seikret and swap between them in the field.

Who it suits

Hunters who like a slow, deliberate rhythm and one huge hit at the perfect moment.
