Monster Hunter Wilds launched with 29 large monsters across five locales, and the free Title Updates added five more: Mizutsune, Lagiacrus, Seregios, Omega Planetes and Gogmazios. That's 34 large monsters today – plus tougher Tempered and Arch-tempered versions of many of them.
The expansion Ascendance (2027) will add more, including Master Rank.
The five locales
Windward PlainsOpen desert plains ruled by Rey Dau.
Scarlet ForestRed forest and rivers, ruled by Uth Duna.
Oilwell BasinBurning oil fields, ruled by Nu Udra.
Iceshard CliffsFrozen cliffs, ruled by Jin Dahaad.
Ruins of WyveriaThe ancient city of the Guardians.
Apex monstersEach of the first four locales has an apex – Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra and Jin Dahaad – that is strongest during its locale's 'Inclemency' weather.
Tempered and Arch-temperedLate in the game, tougher Tempered versions appear, and the Title Updates added even harder Arch-tempered apexes and Arkveld.
