Which mode should I play?

Love building?Classic Battle Royale rewards fast building and editing. It's the core Fortnite experience.
Hate building?Zero Build plays the same island without walls and ramps – the easiest start for new players.
Want less pressure?Reload lets you respawn while a teammate is alive, and Blitz Royale matches last only a few minutes.
Prefer co-op?Save the World and LEGO Fortnite Odyssey are made for playing with friends, and both are free.

Good to know

One account, one lockerOutfits and items you own work across most Fortnite experiences.
Shared XPXP from Battle Royale, LEGO, Festival and Creative islands all counts toward the Battle Pass.
Modes changeEpic adds, rotates and retires modes often – the Discover tab in the lobby always shows what's live.

In 2026 Epic cut back: Ballistic and the Festival Battle Stage closed on April 16, and Rocket Racing shut down on October 1. On the same day as the first cuts, Save the World became free to play. For the newest Battle Royale changes, see our v42.30 patch notes.
