How to Get the Wicked Winger Evolution in EA FC 27: Cost, Requirements and Upgrades

Ultimate Scream is back in EA Sports FC 27, and alongside the Halloween player items, the event's Token Store hides one of the most useful upgrades of the promo: the Wicked Winger Evolution. It takes a modest right-sided winger, boosts it to as high as 85 OVR, adds pace and Skill Moves, and ends with a choice of PlayStyle+. It isn't free, though. It costs Ultimate Scream Tokens, and those are limited. This guide covers how to unlock it, which cards qualify, and how to get the most out of your tokens before the store closes.

Everything below applies to Ultimate Team as of late October 2026, during Ultimate Scream (which started on October 23).

Wicked Winger at a glance

Step 1: Earn Ultimate Scream Tokens

Wicked Winger is sold for Ultimate Scream Tokens, which you earn by playing during the event. EA lists these sources:

1. Ultimate Scream Objectives. The themed objective groups in the Objectives menu are the main source. New ones arrive during the promo and some don't last long, so check back every few days.
2. Flash Rush events. There are two each week during the promo, with tokens among the rewards.
3. Ghoul Fest. This is a Live Event in the promo's second week where offsides and fouls go unpunished. It's another source of tokens.

Tokens don't carry over to later campaigns. Anything you don't spend is lost when the Token Store closes.

Step 2: Decide whether 900 tokens is worth it

Wicked Winger has plenty of competition in the same store. Here's what else your tokens can buy:

Wicked Winger costs the same as Verón and more than the guaranteed Team 1 pack. Only buy it if you already own a suitable right winger and RW or RM is a position you actually need to fill. If your right flank is already strong, the Heroes or the cheaper Haunted Wall Evolution are probably better uses of your tokens.

Step 3: Pick the right player

The requirements are strict, so check your club before you spend anything. Your player must:

• play RM or RW
• be 82 OVR or lower
• have 90 Pace or lower
• have 70 Defending or lower
• have 80 Strength or lower
• have no more than one PlayStyle+

The OVR boost is worth up to +15, with a cap of 85. That decides who gets the most value:

• Around 70 OVR: gets close to the full +15 and finishes near 85. That's the best value for the token cost.
• 75–79 OVR: still a big jump, and these cards often have a better base for the stats the Evolution doesn't touch.
• 80–82 OVR: only gains a few points, so you're mostly paying for the Skill Moves, pace and PlayStyle+.

Pace matters too. The Evolution raises Acceleration and Sprint Speed to 87, so a winger who is already quick gets less out of that part. A player with good physical stats who is a bit slow is often the smarter pick. Untradeable cards from earlier objectives, packs or SBCs are ideal, because you aren't spending coins on the base card.

Tip: check all six caps, not just OVR. The Defending and Strength limits are easy to overlook.

Step 4: Redeem and activate the Evolution

1. Open the Ultimate Scream Token Store in Ultimate Team and redeem Wicked Winger for 900 tokens.
2. Open the Evolutions menu and find Wicked Winger among your available Evolutions.
3. Choose an eligible player and confirm. Double-check it's the card you want before you confirm.
4. Put the player in your active squad and complete each level's objectives. The exact match requirements for each level are shown in the Evolution menu.

Step 5: Choose the PlayStyle+

The final stage asks you to pick one of three PlayStyles+:

• Finesse Shot+ suits a winger who cuts inside onto their stronger foot and shoots across goal. It's the strongest pick for most attacking right wingers.
• Quick Step+ gives explosive acceleration. It works best if your player relies on beating defenders in a straight race down the line.
• Technical+ makes dribbling smoother in tight spaces and suits a creative winger who plays close to the box.

Your player can only have one PlayStyle+ before the Evolution, so check which one it already has before you choose. Picking a second one that does something different is usually better.

Common mistakes

• Spending tokens before checking eligibility. If no card in your club meets all six requirements, the Evolution sits unused. Check first.
• Using an 82-rated card. It qualifies, but it only gains 3 OVR. A 70–75 rated card gets far more from the same 900 tokens.
• Leaving tokens unspent. The Token Store stays open for one extra week after Ultimate Scream ends, but then your tokens are gone. The promo is expected to run until November 6, so plan to spend everything by around November 13. Check the in-game timer for the exact closing time.
• Counting on a Beaver Moon boost. The Beaver Moon upgrade from November 24 is for Ultimate Scream player items. EA hasn't said it covers regular cards evolved with Wicked Winger, so don't pick your player expecting one.

The defensive alternative: The Haunted Wall

If you need defensive help more than a winger, the Token Store's other Evolution, The Haunted Wall, costs 500 tokens. It takes players up to 81 OVR and 85 Pace with no more than seven PlayStyles, and raises them to as high as 84 OVR with improved defensive stats. Its final stage offers Intercept, Bruiser or Anticipate. It's cheaper, but the upgrade is smaller. Wicked Winger is the one to choose if you want a real difference-maker on the flank.
